Eco-responsible approach towards the Green Key label for the campsite | Yelloh! Saint-Emilion

Towards the Green Key Label at Yelloh! Saint Emilion
At Yelloh! Village Saint-Émilion, we have always been committed to preserving the natural beauty of our environment while providing an unforgettable holiday experience. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ve begun the process of obtaining the Green Key label, an award that recognizes tourism establishments committed to the planet and sustainable development.
What is the Green Key label?
The Green Key label is an international certification awarded to establishments that implement a serious and measurable environmental policy. It serves as a mark of quality for travelers who care about their impact on the planet. This label is based on a series of strict criteria concerning water, energy and waste management, biodiversity promotion, as well as social commitment and raising guest awareness about eco-friendly practices.
Why have we chosen to commit?
At Yelloh! Village Saint-Émilion, we believe it’s essential to combine comfort with respect for the environment. As a campsite, we are directly connected to nature, and it is our responsibility to protect it. This label is a way to formalize and strengthen our commitment to sustainable development.
Our Concrete Actions for the Environment
We have always been committed to respecting our environment. We are strengthening our efforts and aiming to meet all the criteria of the Green Key label:
- Water management: We have installed water-saving devices in our sanitary facilities and accommodations to reduce consumption (low-flow toilets, aerators, flow reducers). Plants are watered at the most suitable times during hot weather, and each year we expand our drip irrigation network.
- Energy efficiency: We have chosen LED and solar lighting solutions, along with low-energy equipment. We have deliberately limited the number of accommodations equipped with air conditioning, and we set our heating and cooling systems for responsible use.
- Waste sorting and plastic reduction: Recycling bins are available and grouped at a collective drop-off point at the campsite entrance. We have also implemented several initiatives to reduce plastic use by offering more eco-friendly alternatives.
This season, we introduced composting, and we encourage both our guests and our team to make use of it! - Sharing and raising awareness: We enjoy sharing our good practices with you, whether through information on our eco-friendly choices or simple tips to implement. Whether you're a guest or a team member, everyone can contribute at their own pace to a more environmentally friendly stay.
