Bring the holiday spirit home with you!
Bring the holiday spirit home with you!
At Yelloh! Village Saint-Émilion, we believe that every small action makes a difference – for the planet and for people too.
As part of our journey toward the Clef Verte label, we hope to inspire you to continue the eco-friendly and caring habits you discovered during your stay – back at home, with your family.
Because holidays aren’t just for relaxing – they’re also a great time to pick up new, positive habits!
1. Make recycling fun
Waste sorting is a priority here at the campsite: clear signage, recycling points, and compost bins make it easy.
Why not create your own colourful and fun recycling station at home? Get the kids involved with little recycling challenges and reward them for taking part!
2. Use less water – it's easy!
We pay close attention to water use: short showers, low-flow taps, double-flush toilets…
At home, start with simple steps: install tap aerators, use a timer for showers, and turn water off while brushing teeth. Turn it into a game for the kids to raise awareness!
3. Eat local and seasonal
You’ve enjoyed our regional products – why stop now? Keep it up by shopping for local, seasonal produce.
Try planning meals around what's in season, or even grow your own fruits and vegetables at home with your children. It’s a great way to learn and have fun together.
4. Nature is the best playground
Here in Saint-Émilion, we love nature and all its benefits. At home, go for family walks and pick up litter along the way, or create a nature corner with potted plants that you care for together.
It’s fun and it helps kids learn about biodiversity.
5. Say no to single-use plastic
You probably used reusable bottles and bags during your holiday – why not keep going at home?
Give your kids their own water bottles and snack containers, and explain why avoiding disposable plastic is so important. Switch to cloth bags and reusable items whenever you can!
6. Be part of the energy-saving team
We’ve made efforts to reduce our energy use at the campsite – like LED lighting and better temperature control.
At home, turn off lights when leaving a room, install smart plugs, and involve your children in daily actions. You can even create a fun challenge: "Who left the light on?"
7. Get involved in social action
Being eco-friendly also means caring for others. At Yelloh! Village Saint-Émilion, we support local initiatives and charities.
You can do the same at home: donate clothes or toys you no longer use, and involve your children in this kind and generous act. It’s a great way to teach empathy and social responsibility.
Making a difference – together!
The Clef Verte label is not just about protecting nature – it's also about creating a more caring and united world.
We hope these simple actions will become part of your family life after your holiday.
Every little gesture counts – at home, and everywhere.
